Camara resigned earlier this month after the company launched a probe into the allegations levelled against him that he groped a young female employee at a dinner.

The 39-year-old former CEO allegedly shoved a piece of meat into the young woman’s face on September 6 during a dinner with the staff members. The media outlet also reported that Camara asked her to eat it “like an animal” before sexually assaulting her.

Earlier this year, Camara made headlines when data named him as one of the "nicest" CEOs to get a bigger paycheck than Apple’s Tim Cook last year. Fortune quoted his compensation as totalling $110 million last year.

Soon after his resignation on September 10, the company’s stock price shot up by more than 10 percent.

Earlier Complaints Against The CEO

Last year, an employee of CS Disco made a formal complaint against Camara’s behaviour around young female employees. According to an ethics complaint filed with human resources, Camara “prefers to have a house party with associates rather than a professional dinner.” However, it remains unclear if the company took any action against Camara at that time.

Several former employees said that they had raised concerns about Camara’s behaviour in the past few years to human resources and top executives during their exit interviews, and they felt nothing had changed.

In February 2022, an employee filed a complaint to HR that the CEO surrounds himself with young female employees and prefers to have a house party with associates rather than a professional diner,” and called it inappropriate behaviour.

Camara co-founded CS Disco in 2013 when he was just 29 years old and hired hundreds of employees whom he called "Discovians.” According to the journal’s report, Camara regularly hosted alcohol-fuelled social events for them.

Camara was born in the Philippines in 1984 and is the only child of his parents, who are both doctors.
