The Priya Ramani acquittal has drawn a resounding reaction from women on social media who are hailing this as a watershed moment for India’s #MeToo movement.

Journalist Priya Ramani said that the disclosure about alleged sexual misconduct by MJ Akbar was made in good faith and for public good.

MJ Akbar, former Minister of State for External Affairs, filed a defamation case against Priya Ramani in March 2018 for accusing him of sexual misconduct.
