Reportedly, in a detailed interview on Saturday, Ghosh accused Anurag Kashyap of sexually harassing her during the shooting of the movie Bombay Velvet. She also named three other actresses – Richa Chadha, Huma Qureshi, and, Maahie Gill in the same interview.
Subsequently, Kashyap denied all charges against him in a Twitter post. His ex-wives, film editor Aarti Bajaj and actor Kalki Koechlin, also defended him against the allegations. Notably, other Bollywood actresses like Taapsee Pannu, Saiyami Kher, Tisca Chopra, and Radhika Apte have also come out in the director’s support. Currently, Kashyap and Chadha have resorted to legal recourse in this matter.
Recently, Ghosh also replied to those accusing her of false allegations. She tweeted: “People blame women for everything and post smash the patriarchy. It’s time to stand with the women. Let them be heard. A voice suppressed is a generation of women oppressed. It’s 2020. Come on, India! #MeToo.”
