National Commission of Women (NCW) also responded to this tweet seeking a formal complaint from Ghosh for them to investigate. Smriti Irani, who is the Minister for Women and Child Development spoke about the issue to a TV channel saying, "I am in a Constitutional position that oversees the National Commission for Women. NCW has made a public statement, hence it will be inappropriate for me to digress and get into their constitutional area about how they want to go ahead with a particular case.”

Ghosh, who has worked in projects like Patel Ki Punjabi Shaadi (film) and Saath Nibhaana Saathiya (TV show).

She tweeted, “@anuragkashyap72 has forced himself on me and extremely badly. @PMOIndia @narendramodi ji, kindly take action and let the country see the demon behind this creative guy. I am aware that it can harm me and my security is at risk. Pls help!”

In her tweet she appealed to the Prime Minister to step in and act over her allegation. The Chairperson of National Commission for Women or NCW, Rekha Sharma intervened and asked Ghosh for a detailed complaint. She quote-tweeted Ghosh and asked for a detailed complaint in the matter. She wrote, “You may send me the detailed complaint at chairperson-ncw@nic.in and @NCWIndia will look into it.”

Kangana Ranaut, who has been at loggerheads with Kashyap over many issues, also tweeted saying, “Every voice matters.”

"I don't indulge in such behaviour in public or otherwise. Neither do I tolerate such behaviour," tweeted Anurag Kashyap . In a long thread on Twitter posted in Hindi, Kashyap wrote, "It took you so long to make an attempt to silence me. Never mind... in a bid to silence me, you have dragged another woman in this, despite being a woman. Please stick to the limits, Madame. All I want to say is all allegations are baseless." The rest of the tweet is detailed below.

Kolkata girl Payal Ghosh recently made her debut into Hindi film industry. She acted in Telugu films like Prayanam, Oosaraveli and others.

Kashyap further explained in his tweet: "Whether it's my first wife or second, or a girlfriend... or all those actresses who worked with me... or all those female colleagues who have been working with me... I don't indulge in such behaviour in public or otherwise. Neither do I tolerate such behaviour. Rest, whatever happens... let's see. In the video, you can figure how true the allegations are... otherwise, just love and good wishes for you. Apologies for replying to you in Hindi for your accusations in English."

Ghosh also talked about the ongoing issue of usage of drugs by Bollywood stars. According to this report in the Times of India, she said, “Not everyone in Bollywood is into drugs. They are many people who are health conscious and take their diet and fitness pretty seriously. However, there are some personalities in the Hindi film fraternity who are on drugs. They think that they will be intoxicated and remain thin & slim. This kind of mentality is not only dangerous to actors themselves but also to their fans and followers as they would consider the former as role models. This needs to be stopped as there is a large influence of celeb behaviour on the commoners.”
