Noida Woman Raped By Neighbour, Was Sending Her “Obscene” Messages: Report
A woman was allegedly raped by her neighbour in Uttar Pradesh’s Noida Sector 20. An investigation is underway in the case, said Deputy Commissioner of Police Ranvijay Singh, further adding that the police suspected that there was another issue at play.
“A woman has filed a complaint alleging rape attempt in Harola village in Noida Sector 20. Prima facie it appears to be some other matter. However, we have registered the complaint and investigation is underway” Singh told ANI.

According to the 21-year-old survivor’s husband, “The man would send her obscene messages and we had warned him earlier. Yesterday (Saturday), I saw him leaving my house and when I went inside, I found my wife in a poor condition. She was in a semi-conscious state and her clothes were torn,” as reported by Hindustan Times.
Police officers said that the family was initially afraid to file the case because of social pressure. Reportedly this is the reason that the matter was reported to them a day later. The survivor was then sent for a medical examination and a female constable was also sent to speak with her. The suspect, who is 24 years old, is reportedly absconding at the moment.
In 2019, a 50-year-old man allegedly raped a disabled minor in his neighbourhood for months. The incident happened in Muzzafarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, leaving the survivor seven months pregnant. The family of the survivor found out about the incident only after they discovered that she was pregnant. The minor was then taken for medical examination. People from the village protested against the incident, demanding strict action against the accused, who was later arrested by the police. Read about it here.
