In a quest to raise awareness amongst youngsters about the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle, a 75-year-old woman from Assam embarked on a 10-kilometre walk.

According to the Press Trust of India's report, the woman, Hina Bora, a resident of Dibrugarh, took up the 10-kilometre walk because she "wanted to raise awareness among youngsters about the importance of staying active to maintain good health."

Elderly Woman Walks 10 Km With National Flag

The video shows the septuagenarian walking briskly over the Bogibeel Bridge wearing a tricolour t-shirt and holding the national flag in hand. About a dozen police officers are seen accompanying the elderly woman, some by foot and some by two-wheeler.

The 75-year-old woman held the national flag in hand as she walked while being accompanied by the police. She covered the famous Bogibeel Bridge built over the Brahmaputra River during her walk. The bridge is the longest road-cum-rail bridge in India.

The video was posted by the PTI on Monday morning and has garnered over 39K views so far. Commenting on the post, an X (formerly Twitter) user spoke about how age wasn’t a barrier to spreading a positive message and appreciated Hina Bora.

While many people appreciated her, some users questioned the presence of several police officers around her. Echoing the thoughts of many users, one of them asked why there were so many police officers were present for a 10-kilometre walk.
