Despite receiving numerous accolades, Jawan also faced some criticism, particularly regarding the limited screen time and character depth given to the female characters. One of the most notable criticisms was the casting of a much younger actor in the role of Shah Rukh Khan's mother in the film.
Khan as well as Ridhi Dogra, who portrayed his adoptive mother, Kaveri Amma, in Jawan, recently addressed the topic. While Dogra shared her experience of working with the superstar, she expressed that it was quite challenging for her to take on this role, but she's grateful that SRK himself acknowledged the difficulty.
She mentioned in an interview with Siddharth Kannan, "It was a difficult task for me to do what I did. I am so glad he acknowledged it. Maybe he said it very casually. I don't know, because he mentioned it on stage, but when he said, 'Unfortunately, playing my mother," it was like that moment from Om Shanti Om happened for me. That's it. That's it. I don't need anything else. Thank you for saying that. It is unfortunate to be playing his mother." The actor also revealed that Khan himself said this to her many times, 'I can understand how wrong you must be feeling.'
Who Is Ridhi Dogra?
Riddhi Dogra, at the age of 39, is a highly accomplished Indian actor known for her remarkable performances in various roles.
