Taapsee wishes sister Shagun Pannu on her birthday: Actor Taapsee Pannu took to Instagram to wish her sister Shagun Pannu on her birthday with a boomerang video. Pannu, who is currently shooting for her next film Shabaash Mithu, shared a boomerang with her sister.

Calling Shagun her "constant", Taapsee wrote that her sibling is celebrating her birthday at the Golden Temple in Amritsar and that she is missing her.

Who is Shagun Pannu?

Shagun is Taapsee's younger sister. The actor often posts pictures with her sister on social media. Shagun works as the Business Development Head at The Wedding Factory, an event planning company.

Taapsee’s Thappad director Anubhav Sinha also wished Shagun and dropped a comment on her post that read, “So sweet. Happy Bidday Shagun.”

Taapsee recently won the Filmfare Best Actress Award for her film Thappad. The film was well-received by the audience worldwide and triggered a conversation on domestic violence among its viewers. Reacting to her big win, she told ETimes, “There are a thousand things that go through your mind right from the time you are nominated." She added that on the stage while receiving my award, it was "overwhelming" for her to see the list of nominees this year because of the kind of names and performances that were up there. "All of the actresses nominated were leads of women-driven films" and she said it was "heartening" to see how far she has come from the times when "Best Actress nominations consisted of actresses in hero-driven films" in which they had only a handful of scenes.

After finishing multiple projects after the first wave of the pandemic subsided, Taapsee is now busy shooting for Shabaash Mithu. Speaking on playing the role of Indian cricketer Mithali Raj on the screen, Pannu said, “Mithali Raj is an excellent player who has made records for her 50s and has also surpassed the 10,000-run mark becoming the highest scorer in women’s cricket."

Some of the films that Taapsee Pannu has lined up for release soon are Looop Lapeta, Haseen Dillruba, Rashmi Rocket and Do Baaraa.
