Grandfather Brings Home Granddaughter in A Helicopter

Booking a helicopter to bring his granddaughter Krushika home, from her maternal grandparents’ house in Shewal Wadi, this excited grandfather made a grand gesture to welcome the newest member of the family. Making headlines by this gesture, the newborns’ paternal grandfather Ajit said that he wanted to accord a grand welcome to Krushika, the newest member of the family.

This is not the first time a family has made this grand gesture. Recently, in the Khed tehsil of Pune, another couple had also booked a helicopter to bring their daughter home. Rajalakshmi who was born on January 22 in Bhosari, in her mother’s home was brought home to Shelgaon in Khed, in a helicopter. The girl’s father who is an advocate set a positive example.

He said, ‘We didn’t have any girl in our entire family. So, we decided to make our daughter’s homecoming special and we arranged a chopper ride worth Rs 1 lakh.” Additionally, setting the right example for the society to look up to, he also said that the birth of a newborn girl should be celebrated like a festival and that’s the message he wants to spread in society.

Another such incident, also made headlines last year, when a family in Rajasthan, welcomed the birth of a daughter with a grand celebration. The girl child, the household’s first in 35 years, was brought home in a helicopter from her maternal grandparents’ house in Nagaur to India’s largest state, Rajasthan. A video of the incident made rounds on the internet, where it was heartening to see a family celebrating the arrival of a girl child. The girl child, Riya, was born to Hanuman Prajapat and Chuki Devi in March 2021.

The baby’s father Hanuman Prajapat stated- “It is usually seen that people do not celebrate the birth of a girl. There should be no discrimination between a girl and a boy. I will make my daughter study and fulfill all her dreams,”  As per reports, the family spent around a total of Rs 4.5 lakh, as the elders of the family believed the birth of a girl after a full three decades was an occasion to celebrate.

The birth of a girl child is usually seen as a financial burden or a liability to the family. Incidents like these are very heartening to see, as it showcases the positive changes occurring in society and more and more families happily welcome the girl child. It also sets the right example and proves to be one step ahead in the route of gender equality.
