Specially-Abled woman attacked in Vijayawada: A 50-year-old specially-abled woman from Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh alleged that four men, suspected to be her neighbours, attacked and sexually assaulted her. A police complaint in the case has been filed at Nunna police station in Vijayawada. The police have formed a search party to catch hold of the four accused.
All the four accused are reportedly below the age of 25 and were neighbours of the survivor. According to the Circle Inspector (CI) of Nunna K Haneesh, the woman was injured and the household items at her place were damaged. So far, the police stated that this matched with the survivor’s claims about the alleged attack. However, they are still unsure if it is a case of sexual assault too.
The men were allegedly smoking weed in her backyard and Haneesh stated that the survivor pelted stones at the four accused. “In a fit of rage, they might have attacked her,” Haneesh said.
To make sure that the case involved sexual assault or not, the survivor has been sent to Vijayawada GGH for medical tests by the police investigating the incident.
