Sania Mirza trolled: The semi-final clash between Pakistan and Australia became a reason for the troll brigade to target Indian tennis player Sania Mirza who was seen supporting and cheering Pakistan at the stadium.

Her husband Shoaib Malik is a Pakistani cricketer. He was also the captain of the Pakistan national cricket team from 2007 to 2009. The result of the match was not in Pakistan’s favour but the trolling against Mirza continued.

A lot of netizens rebuked her for supporting Pakistan team. However, there were many who backed her and said that there was nothing wrong in the fact that she was cheering for her husband Shoaib Malik. She has proved her mettle and has won a lot of medals for India in tennis.

“Can someone please tell me that what kind of an indian Sania Mirza is?? Never have i ever saw her cheating for indian cricket team but we saw her in support of pakistan many times.”, wrote one user.

Another one wrote, “Ye Sania Mirza pakistani clapping for Paxtan today, Olympic me haar ke wapis aa gyi thi on the day she lost, ye bhi nahi ki remaining indian players ke match me support kr de , and our tenis federation pays her for what?”

This is not the first time when Sania Mirza had to face the wrath of Indians for marrying Shoaib Malik. In 2019, BJP MLA Raja Singh called Sania Mirza “Pakistan’s daughter-in-law” and criticised her. He also said that she should be removed as Telangana’s brand ambassador. His statement came in the wake of Pulwama terror attacks on February 14 which killed 40 Central Reserve Police Force jawans.
