Rhea Chakraborty filed a complaint with the Mumbai Police against Sushant Singh Rajput's sister Priyanka Singh and Dr Tarun Kumar of Delhi's Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital and others for forgery and for procuring a “bogus medical prescription" for the deceased actor, last night. She stated in the complaint that through the prescription Rajput was given “unlawfully prescribed psychotropic substances” and within five days of having those, he passed away. Chakraborty's complaint accuses them of forgery and invokes IPC 1860, NDPS Act and Tele Medicine Practice Guidelines 2020.

As reported by India Today, Chakraborty's complaint with Mumbai Police states the prescription was shared by Priyanka Singh through a WhatsApp message to Rajput on June 8. The message went viral a few days ago.

Claiming that Rajput had shown her the text message, Chakraborty alleged that his name was mentioned as a patient at Delhi Out Patient Department on June 8, 2020, when in fact Rajput was in Mumbai on that day. The complaint further stated, “Priyanka had sent him a list of medications to take. I explained to the Deceased that given the seriousness of his condition, and the fact that he already had medications prescribed by doctors who had examined and treated him over several months, he ought not to take any other medication, least of all medication being prescribed by his sister who has no medical degree.”

The prescription reportedly advised Rajput to take three medicines that are usually prescribed for anxiety and depression. First was Librium, prescribed for a week, Nexito to be taken every day and Lonazep for "whenever there is anxiety attack". Chakraborty says that despite her dissuasion, Rajput insisted on taking the medicines prescribed by his sister.

Alleging that the prescription was “forged and fabricated”, Chakraborty sated, “Dr Tarun Kumar appears to have prescribed medication controlled under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 to the Deceased without any consultation as mandated by Law.”

Chakraborty says in her complaint, "Sushant died merely five days after obtaining the prescription in which he was unlawfully prescribed psychotropic substances." Furthermore, the complaint mentions, "It is imperative that the actions of Priyanka Singh, Dr Tarun Kumar and others be investigated and that it be determined as to how they came to provide the deceased with such a bogus and unlawful prescription."

In the complaint, Chakraborty also clarified that the deceased actor was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder by many renowned doctors. However, the actor was not following his treatment with discipline and would abruptly miss his medicines, India Today reported.

Last month, in a statement Chakraborty accused Priyanka Singh of groping her. India Today quoted, "Rhea was asleep in Sushant’s room when she suddenly awoke to find Priyanka had got into bed with her and was groping her.” Read the full report here.

Probing the angle of a probable drug abuse in the death of the actor, Rhea Chakraborty was interrogated by the NCB for two days. Showik Chakraborty and Sushant's house manager Samuel Miranda have already been taken into custody.

Responding to Chakraborty's complaint and the resultant FIR, Shweta Singh Kirti tweeted, “Nothing's gonna break us, definitely not this fake FIR!" In another tweet, she wrote, “Put up Billboards and flyers in front of your home, on your car. Split into groups and have peaceful car rallies and tag me. Let’s make it into People’s Movement! We will not stop till the justice is served!”

The family’s lawyer Vikas Singh had said that it was a ‘clear attempt’ by Rhea to keep the Mumbai Police involved in the case. "So this is a clear attempt to somehow keep the Mumbai Police alive in this matter so that they can do some mischief and ensure that the family of Sushant does not get justice in this matter," he said, as per a report in the Hindustan Times.
