Madurai Head Constable Allegedly Murdered By Husband, Father Demands CID Probe

The father of the deceased reportedly said that his daughter was strangulated with her own uniform belt following a fight with her husband.

Her father R. Chandrasekar filed a petition that requested a CB-CID (The Crime Branch, Crime Investigation Department) probe into the matter. The father of the deceased reportedly claimed that his daughter was strangulated with her own uniform belt following a fight with her husband.

He stated that the post-mortem report suggested that the constable was murdered. An FIR was reportedly filed against the accused who was neither detained nor taken into custody. The petitioner believed that the case was not being fairly probed by the Virudhunagar police and thus requested the involvement of the CB-CID.

The accused, a bus driver rejected all claims of murder. Eventually the case was adjourned.

In a case reported earlier this week, a 16 year old girl in the state of Uttar Pradesh was allegedly repeatedly raped and murdered after the discovery of her pregnancy. According to a report, the girl was four-months pregnant when she was killed. The accused attempted to flee but was captured by the police. Section 302 (murder) of Indian Penal Code has been registered against the accused.

The previous week, a seven year old girl was allegedly raped and murdered by a 35-year-old man in Bihar’s Champaran District. The accused is a neighbour of the deceased. According to reports the search had begun to arrest the accused who has been booked under the Indian Penal Code’s Sections 376 (rape), 302 (murder), 506 (criminal intimidation), 504 (intentional insult) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.

Another case of murder was registered against a man who allegedly stabbed a girl to death at Tambaram Railway Station in Chennai on Thursday. As per reports, the locals handed over the accused to the police.
