Bareilly girl raped and killed: A man in UP Bareilly district’s Deoraniya allegedly repeatedly raped a 16-year-old girl and murdered her after finding out that she was pregnant. The girl had gone missing and was found dead in the village on September 20.
The post mortem report of the girl’s dead body revealed that she was four months pregnant when she died, as per police officials.
The police are reportedly suspecting that the girl and the accused man knew each other from earlier. The accused has been identified as Bhagwat Sharan who also went missing after the girl’s dead body was found.
The police on Monday found that the accused man was trying to flee Bareilly. The police ended up arrested him after they were informed about it. As per reports, the accused man allegedly confessed that he killed the 16-year-old girl. The police also said that before the girl’s death, she had threatened to reveal his name.
As per reports, the 20-year-old accused man told police that he was in a relationship with the deceased for the past six months. After learning that she was pregnant. he allegedly gave her medicines to abort the fetus but the medicine did not work. The girls then threatened him to reveal his name to her father. Scared by the threat, the man allegedly planned to murder the girl. He reportedly took her to a secluded place where he strangled her to death with a rope.
The police had registered a case under the section 302 (murder) of Indian Penal Code. Other charges were added to the case when the accused confessed about impregnating the girl. The Superintendent of Police, Rohit Singh Sajwan said, “Since the girl was a minor, we have slapped sections of rape against him. We have also received the rope which was used as a murder weapon. The accused has been sent to jail. “
