Bihar Rape and Murder: A seven-year-old girl was allegedly raped and murdered in the Champaran District, in the east of Bihar.
The suspect, in this case, is a thirty-five-year-old, man who is also a neighbour of the deceased girl. The girl’s family said that the accused took her away from the home and alleged raped and murdered her. The girl’s uncle said that she had gone to watch TV at a neighbour’s place.
A local police officer, Akhilesh Kumar Mishra, said, “Prima facie, it looks to be a case of rape and murder. “… circumstantial evidence (also) points to the same. This will be confirmed after the post-mortem report arrives.”
According to the report by Hindustan Times, the girl’s grandfather said that they came to know that the girl had left for home around 9 pm. The electricity of the village went off around 7:30 pm. The accused is reportedly a father of five and is still on the run. The police said that he has not been arrested as yet and that raids are on to nab him.
The man has been booked under the Indian Penal Code’s Sections 376 (rape), 302 (murder), 506 (criminal intimidation), 504 (intentional insult) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
The report comes after the recent rape case in Jharkhand, where a teenage girl was gangraped by five men while she went out to relieve herself. Her friends, who were also attacked, managed to flee while the men took the girl aside and raped her.
There have been many such horrifying cases of rape and murder around the country like the case in Raipur, where a woman was raped and her private parts brutalised, the Telangana case where a minor was raped and murdered.
