Kangana Ranaut Will Play Differently Abled Athlete In R Balki’s Next
A former national volleyball player — Arunima Sinha — who is also the first Indian amputee to scale Mt Everest will soon get to see her own incredible journey on celluloid. If reports are to be believed, filmmaker R. Balki is set to make the biopic. Actress Kangana Ranaut has already given the nod to play the role, co-starring Amitabh Bachchan.
A source revealed to Mid-Day, “Kangana had already been roped in for the Arunima Sinha biopic. But the film showed no signs of kick-starting. So when Balki offered her this project, she was keen to come on board. The film revolves around a woman who is left handicapped after a freak accident, and eventually reclaims her life. Bachchan will be seen as her mentor, who will inspire her to rise against all odds.”
A source said that Big B will play the role of Kangana’s mentor in the movie and will guide her on fighting against all odds
Currently, the actress is enjoying a family vacation in Manali after taking a break from the shooting of Manikarnika.
Balki is making the first feature film starring the two 2016 National Award winners. The duo was last seen together on a commercial
The source also added that Kangana, who is very excited to bag the role, “will require a two-month-long prep to adapt to the body language of a differently-abled person. The actors are expected to sign the contracts next week and an official announcement will be made later this month”.
Fans are eager to watch her on-screen as this is the first time when Kangana will play a differently-abled athlete. Can’t wait for this one!
