Telangana Girl Dies By Suicide Over Exams Delay

As reported by NDTV, according to the police, the young woman, originally from Warangal, was discovered deceased in her hostel room on the night of October 13, with personal problems cited as the cause.

However, according to the protestors, the woman took her own life due to her despondency over not securing employment and the repeated postponement of the Group-2 examination by the Telangana State Public Service Commission.

Allegedly, she had attempted both the Group-1 and Group-2 examinations. However, her attempts at the Group-1 exams were thwarted when they were cancelled on two separate occasions after she had already taken them. Furthermore, her aspirations for the Group-2 examination were disrupted once more due to the announcement of elections.

The Letter To Parents

The suicide letter discovered in Pravallika's room reportedly read, "Mother, I humbly seek your forgiveness. I have always grappled with a sense of failure. I'm aware that both you and your father have been worried about me. Please don't shed tears. Ensure your own safety.

"I consider myself fortunate to be your daughter, and I aspire to never bring disgrace to our family. I feel as if I'm disappointing all of you, and I question whether anyone will ever find it in their hearts to pardon me for this. I find myself incapable of assisting you both."

Politics Around The Death

Opposition parties placed the blame for the young woman's death on the government led by K Chandrasekhar Rao in the state.

BJP MP K Laxman stated on the social media platform X that he had requested the public release of the woman's suicide letter but was reportedly detained.

He asserted, "She had been diligently preparing for government examinations for many months. However, owing to the government's repeated cancellations and rescheduling of exams, she resorted to this extreme measure."

Congress leader M. Anil Kumar Yadav, who participated in the protests, alleged that the woman's suicide was a result of her distress over the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) exam being cancelled twice. He called for a judicial investigation into the incident and financial support for her family.

Telangana Congress president A. Revanth Reddy expressed his sorrow regarding the suicide and claimed that the government led by BRS had mishandled the recruitment exams, leading to such tragic outcomes.

The government led by BRS faced criticism from opposition parties due to the alleged leakage of question papers for recruitment exams administered by the Telangana State Public Service Commission.
