On Monday (May 14), results of Class 10 (ICSE) and Class 12 (ISC) exams were released. Scoring 99.1% in the ISC exams (class 12), Era Gupta and Sanyukta Giri have bagged the all-India third rank, reported TOI.

Both, Era Gupta and Sanyukta Giri, are students of Bishop Cotton Girls School, Bengaluru
Era, who scored 100% in physics, chemistry and biotechnology, aspires to be a doctor and land a seat at AIIMS, New Delhi. She told TOI that despite many telling her to focus on NEET, she didn’t sideline the boards.
Era spent most of her time in school and at Allen Career Institute, leaving her with only a couple of hours to study at home. Swimming and dancing were her stress-busters She largely benefited from online content. The youngster believes that social media is not a distraction.
On the other hand, Sanyukta scored 100% in physics and biotechnology. She told TOI how she didn’t follow a schedule and just went with the flow. Interestingly, Sanyukta didn’t attend coaching classes as she felt classroom lessons were sufficient. She is not a social media person and prefers interacting with everyone in person. The topper spends her leisure time reading.
Also, she studied beyond than just textbooks. Sanyukta finds her inspiration in her brother Vikramaditya, a mathematician at University of Cambridge. She has appeared for NEET and plans to pursue medicine due to her love for biology. Sanyukta told TOI she was motivated by her parents’ pep talks. Her parents supported her without pressuring her for marks.
The pass percentage for ISC Result 2018 is 96.21 % and for ICSE Result 2018 it is 98.51%. The Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations (CICSE) announced on its website that students can check their results at http://www.cisce.org/ or via SMS.
