Actress Sushmita Sen’s daughter, Renee Sen has recently opened up about being the daughter of a personality like Sushmita and how to be launched with this privilege as she expressed her desire to follow her mother’s footsteps in Bollywood. She said that her mother has always "encouraged" her to stay grounded and work hard to be "independent". "Everything I am doing is based out of the fact that I want to be independent," Renee, who made her acting debut in the short film Suttabaazi, said about making her way into the industry.
Renee recently appeared on the cover of a magazine and proud mom shared on Instagram:
She told IANS, "If that means setting an example, then I couldn't be happier. But I am not consciously trying to do things differently. I am just lucky and blessed that everything is falling into place, with however independently I am doing it. I am doing it step by step. It is not a conscious decision to set an example. 'Suttabazi' is a beautiful film and I am lucky to be a part of it."

The 21-year-old is Sushmita Sen’s daughter. Sen brought Renee up as a single parent since 2000 and went on to adopt her younger daughter, Alisah, in 2010. Before the "big launch" happens, Renee said that to her "Sushmita Sen is my mother and I am aware of the privileges. I am very blessed that I am her daughter but at the end of the day she is my maa. I, along with my sister, am being raised to be strong, and to have an identity of my own.”
Earlier in an interview, Sushmita too had opened up about her decision to adopt and said, “In the natural birth, the mother and the child connect through the umbilical cord but in adoption, the mother and the child are connected by this higher power, a connection that you cannot cut off. I have had the privilege of experiencing it twice. To become a mother who has given birth from the heart. I have not missed a day of feeling the joy of motherhood.”
Talking about her decision to make a short film, Renee shared, "'Suttabaazi' is a relatable story for every household. The simplicity with which an important message is being conveyed of not seeking validation from the outside world is what truly attracted me. I hope everyone relates to this because it is so close to my heart."
Sushmita, who recently made a comeback with the web series Aarya, is dating model Rohman Shawl, and the couple with her daughters Renee and Alisah, had spent the lockdown together in wake of the coronavirus pandemic. Currently, Renee is holidaying with her family of four in Dubai.
