Their lawyer Satish Maneshinde said in a statement, “Rhea Chakraborty and Showik Chakraborty have filed an application for bail in the NDPS Case in Bombay High Court. It will come up for hearing on 23 September before Justice Sarang V Kotwal. The details of the bail applications will be shared after the hearing.”
NCB has also reportedly summoned actor Deepika Padukone‘s manager Karishma Prakash for questioning into the alleged Bollywood-drug case, an official said on Tuesday. According to the latest reports, NCB is scanning through several drug chats that mention an individual with initials ‘D’. According to Times Now, this ‘D’ person has allegedly been identified as Deepika Padukone and NCB is reportedly planning to call the actress for questioning soon. Five celebrity names have come out from the drug chat and the NCB is probing Bollywood’s link in the matter.
The CBI is investigating the Rajput’s death, who was found dead in his Mumbai apartment on June 14. He was 34. In July, Rajput’s father, Krishna Kumar Singh, had filed an FIR against his son’s ex-girlfriend Chakraborty and her family at a police station in Bihar. The actress, however, claimed that she was innocent and had nothing to do with the late actor’s alleged suicide case.
Rhea Chakraborty, in previous interviews, had categorically denied consuming banned substances, alleging that it was Rajput who used to consume them. However, she has allegedly confessed to the consumption of marijuana to the NCB. On September 10, she was arrested by NCB.
