Netflix show Virgin River will soon air its fourth season on the OTT platform. The show was renewed for Season 4 back in September 2021 along with the announcement of Season 5. Creator Sue Tenney also revealed to the fans that they can expect characters Mel and Jack to get married in the upcoming season.
The romance-drama series follows the story of Mel Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge), a nurse practitioner based in Los Angeles who moves to a small town of Northern California in order to start afresh. Actor including Breckenridge, Martin Henderson, Annette O'Toole, Tim Matheson, Colin Lawrence and Lauren Hammersley are expected to return in Season 4 along with new additions to the cast including Mark Ghanime and Kai Bradbury.
Showrunner Tenney also mentioned earlier that the biological father of Mel's baby will be revealed in Virgin River Season 4. Fans speculate that she is carrying her ex-husband's baby through IVF. Along with this, we can expect to see a friendship between Annette O'Toole's Hope McCrea and Teryl Rothery's Muriel. "It starts as very antagonistic. in the slow burn category, you’ll see moments coming up that are going to open up that relationship. fun taking enemies and making them friendly," Tenney mentioned referring to their budding friendship.
Earlier, star Alexandra Breckenridge gave a major update on Virgin River mentioning in her Instagram story that she completed her Audio Digital Recording for the fourth season and fans can expect for the show to return on Netflix soon. She also revealed that the production for Season 5 has been pushed further.

Actor Martin Henderson also spilled the beans on the events likely to happen in Virgin River Season 4. Speaking to The Digital Fix, he revealed that Season 4 will address all the questions and cliffhangers of the previous season. He also mentioned that it will pose new questions along with.
He mentioned saying that the upcoming season will expectedly satisfy the fans, "I think season four is going to be really satisfying for people because of that giant cliffhanger. There were multiple cliff-hangers, which gives a little love/hate situation for the audience, where they love but hate the wait. It's going to be worth it, because the writers really answer that stuff."

There is no official release date for Virgin River Season 4 but the show is expected to return around the third quarter of 2022.
