Popular television series Virgin River is reportedly going to come out with a season four soon. The show's loyal followers are speculating what the show now holds for its central characters. Particularly the love story between Jack and Melinda Monroe. What should one expect?
The show came to OTT in 2019. But in a small span of time, the creators have managed to come out with three seasons, all based on the books written by Robyn Carr, who is popular for her writings like The Wanderer, The Homecoming, A New Hope, amongst others. Virgin River, despite being postured as a romantic drama is intriguing as every part leaves the audience biting their fingernails and fantasising about a possible storyline that will move the show ahead.
The plot unfolds in a place called Virgin River, which is a town in northern California. It revolves around the life of a nurse from Los Angeles- Mel Monroe. She moves to this place for peace and to start a new job but what she gets is the complete opposite of it. The plot leaves threads of narrative hanging and the end of season 3 leaves the audience with not one but many important questions- like Mel is expecting a baby, but is Jack the father? Or will the partnership between Jack and Preacher turn out to be good? If Brady is not the culprit for attempting to kill Jack, will he be able to clear his name?

The show dives into Mel's life and her hope to have a better living situation physically and mentally in this small town but things are not as she had expected or believed to be as the outcome of living there. It is complex. The series boasts of an IMDb rating of 7.4 out of 10.

The main cast from season 3 will reportedly return for next season as they have too much going on and many crucial questions still remain unanswered. This means Breckenridge and Henderson are certainly part of the show. Reports also suggest the big-time return of Annette O'Toole, who had to be sidelined after she could not be there for the shoots because of the COVID-related flight restrictions.
On October 25, 2021, it was reported that Kai Bradbury and Mark Ghanime are going to enter into season four of the show. Bradbury is Doc Mullins' long lost grandson while Ghanime will play the new doctor in town.

Release details
Netflix has not revealed the release date or trailer of Virgin River season 4 as of yet but there are some things that suggest that it might release this year in summer. In July last year, after the release of season 3, it was reported that the shoot for season 4 has begun. Then at the end of last year, the cast, including Breckenridge and Henderson ,confirmed that the shoot for the upcoming season is done.
In February 2022, Henderson dropped another hint when he posted a picture and stated that he was recording some voice-over work in post-production. This cryptic message reportedly meant that things are running smoothly for the Virgin River team and everything is going in accordance with the plan.
Looking at the past patterns of release of the show, it is certain that the showrunners keep the release dates for new seasons of the series roughly one year apart. But after COVID-19 hit us hard the release schedules for many shows and films got derailed.
