Boycott Pavitra Rishta 2 trends: #BoycottPavitraRishta2 has been trending on Twitter since morning of July 13. Reason? Sushant Singh Rajput's fans are upset with the fact that his iconic role of Manav in the original daily soap will now be essayed by Shaheer Sheikh. Ekta Kapoor's hit television serial Pavitra Rishta si coming out with a sequel, this time on OTT. The show will see Ankita Lokhande reprise her role of Archana.

According to Rajput's fans, no actor can do justice to Manav's character better than Sushant Singh Rajput. Some also alleged that makers of the show are using Rajput's fame, to mint money. Many also trolled Rajput's ex-girlfriend Ankita Lokhande for agreeing to be a part of the show's next season.

The 2009 show had become very popular among the masses. Rajput and Lokhande's love story was well-received by the audience and two gained immense popularity for their work on television. The duo also started dating during that time. The show ran for five years with 1424 episodes. The two went on to date for six years before parting ways as Rajput wanted to focus on his Bollywood career.

The makers also shared the first look of the series recently. It shows Lokhande and Sheikh posing in character with a clapboard.
While the original show was telecasted on television, the sequel will stream on OTT.
The new show also features Hiten Tejwani, Asha Negi, Rithvik Dhanjani and Karan Veer Mehra. Actor Usha Nadkarni will be returning as Savita Deshmukh (Manavโs mother) . The other cast members, however,ย are yet to be announced.
Rajput's one year death anniversary
On June 14 this year, Rajputโs fans, friends and family members observed his one year since his untimely death. The actor had died by suicide last year during lockdown. Ankita Lokhande also remembered the actor through her social media posts on his first death anniversary.ย Read more here.
