Akshay Kumar's Mother In Critical Condition, Admitted To ICU

Akshay Kumar mother in ICU: Actor Akshay Kumar's mother Aruna Bhatia has been admitted to hospital in critical condition. Kumar came back to India early Monday morning to be by his mother's side.

Kumar's mother has been unwell for last few days. Currently she is under treatment at Hiranandani Hospital in Mumbai, admitted to its intensive care unit. Kumar was shooting for his upcoming film Cinderella in the United Kingdom for the past few weeks. However, he flew back to India on September 6 to be with his ailing mother.

"Akshay is extremely attached to his mother and could not stay away from her while she’s not well, so he decided to fly back to India in a sudden decision," a source told Hindustan Times, adding that the actor has asked Cinderella's to carry on with shoot of scenes that do not require is presence. The actor hasn't  cancelled any of his other work commitments so far.

"Even in this day and age, you’re the only one whose one hand on my head can comfort me in troubled times because I know there’s nothing I can’t do with your blessings maa," Akshay Kumar had shared in a post last year, on Mother's Day.

This year too,Kumar had shared a picture of his mom on Mother's Day, writing, "Maa warga koi nahi."

Kumar recently featured in the film BellBottom, which became the first Hindi film to have a theatrical release post ssecond wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. The thriller not only garnered positive reviews, but was applauded for actor Lara Dutta's transformation in former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi via prosthetics and makeup.
