Many have called for the Delhi Metro Corporation to take strict action against such behaviour, emphasising the need to maintain decorum and respect within public spaces.

Delhi Police Takes Action On Women Shooting Reels In Metro

On April 2, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) requested Delhi police to investigate the video after many people demanded strict actions against the women who were seen dancing in the 2013 film Ramleela song 'Ang laga de re' in the viral video that circulated on the viral video.

The video that was initially suspected by few to be a could-be deep fake video turned out to be a real video captured by the two women after an investigation led to the women who were residents of Greater Noida and admitted shooting the video that went viral on March 21.

Violating the rules of Delhi Metro Corporation, On April 8, the two women were booked under IPC section 294 (obscene acts and songs in public places) and Section 59 of the Metro Railways (Operations and Maintenance) Act at Netaji Subhash Place metro police station.

As the other videos of the two vent viral after their Holi celebrations in the moving metro, the two grabbed attention as the Noida police had already imposed a fine of Rs 33,000 on the two for two other similar videos of them to which the two women reportedly admitted not having enough money to pay the imposed fine while netizens demanded heavier fine on the two.

The police arrested the women, but they were later granted bail from the police station itself with certain conditions. The details of these conditions haven't been made public.

Angered Netizens

The news of the arrest has generated mixed reactions. Some people criticized the women's actions, arguing that they disrespected public decorum and endangered themselves by filming in a moving train. Others defended the women, expressing their belief that the celebration was harmless and the arrest an overreaction.

One social media user shared the video on their account, accompanied by the caption writing how immediate action is needed against these behaviours.

Expressing their discomfort, another user commented on the video, stating, "I feel embarrassed just watching this video! One can only imagine the discomfort of the people in the background witnessing such behaviour."

Although enjoying festivals is a pleasant occasion, it's crucial to consider how your actions may affect other people and to select locations that respect everyone's rights and interests. Hence, it is generally regarded as more suitable and polite to celebrate in private homes or other approved locations where guests can enjoy themselves without bothering others.
