Viral: US Woman's "Funeral-Themed" Pregnancy Announcement Photoshoot

Pregnancy photos have been trending over the past decade, and women have been coming up with unique and creative ways to document their pregnancy journey. One woman from the US has recently gained viral fame for her rather unique and bizarre maternity photoshoot.

Cheridan Logsdon, a 23-year-old pregnant woman from Kentucky, announced her pregnancy through a photo shoot with an unthinkable theme. She was dressed in a black gown and veil in her funeral-themed pregnancy photoshoot.

She shared the photos on her Facebook account and captioned them, “RIP to be kid-free! At the ripe age of 23, the young and turnt, rich auntie has finally transitioned over to a mother. All jokes aside, I'm truly excited to start this new chapter in my life! Still can't believe it, but it's growing on me, iykyk.''

In one of the photos, Logsdon can be seen wiping her eyes; in the next shot wiping her eyes while holding the sonogram in one hand. While these photos were seemingly taken in an indoor studio setting, the following photos were taken against the backdrop of a forest.

The fourth photo shows her holding the sonogram in her hand with a veil covering her face, and the fifth photo features just her hand holding the sonogram. The final photo shows the woman in a little black dress and a jacket hanging over one shoulder. She is looking away from the camera while holding the sonogram in one hand.

The post was shared on September 14 and garnered about 650 likes. The photos have gone viral, and the comment section was filled with many congratulations messages. A few netizens were amused by her bizarre theme for the pregnancy photoshoot.

One user said the photoshoot was cute and hilarious before congratulating her. Another user welcomed her to motherhood and noted that women really are “doing this mommy shit though" and added that “black is beautiful.”

Responding to the hate comments, Logsdon wrote a separate post saying that she made her post public so that family and friends could share it, but now random strangers were commenting "nonsense,” adding that she actually has time to tread lightly.

In another post, she wrote that now she must come up with something just as different for the maternity photoshoots, as there would be multiple.

Logsdon also announced that she will be celebrating her gender reveal party with her family and friends on October 8. According to Logsdon’s LinkedIn, she is a “soon-to-be graduate of Kentucky State University.”
