Hailey Bieber is serving boss energy, as her beauty and skincare brand, Rhode, was acquired by e.l.f for $1 billion on May 28, just three years after it was launched. The model and entrepreneur is now the brand's Chief Creative Officer and Head of Innovation. She is also the strategic advisor to e.l.f. beauty. Rhode, which was founded in 2022, is best known for their peptide lip glosses, toners, cleansers, moisturisers and more.

In an Instagram post, Hailey announced, "I found a like-minded disruptor with a vision to be a different kind of company that believes in big ideas and innovation in the same way that I do and will help us continue to grow the brand. I feel invigorated, excited and more ready than ever to step into an even bigger role."

What does this mean for Hailey Bieber?

Rhode skin's $1 billion acquisition deal includes $600 million in cash, $200 million in e.l.f. stock, and up to $200 million in performance-based earnouts over three years, according to a report in the Associated Press. That puts the guaranteed amount at $800 million, with the remaining $200 million on performance.

According to Vogue Business, Hailey held a 51% stake in Rhode. The rest is likely divided among her co-founders, including beauty executive Lauren Ratner, as well as investors and possibly Rhode's CEO Melanie Bender, who joined in 2023. While Hailey's gross share from the transaction could exceed $500 million, her net cash could be around $170–180 million.

From her estimated $306 million cash share, she could lose up to 37% to federal taxes and about 10% to California state taxes. Hailey Bieber is not a billionaire yet; however, her strategic acumen and rising influence could mean big bucks soon. Notably, Hailey's net worth is also reportedly higher than her husband, Justin Bieber.

Musician and streetwear entrepreneur Justin's net worth is reportedly about $200 million. He took to Instagram to proudly share a photo of Hailey following the acquisition. Although he did not write a caption, Hailey responded with a teary-eyed face and heart emojis. Recently, the couple celebrated their son Jack's nine-month birthday.
