Days after the administration cancelled her MPhil admission, Safoora Zargar, a researcher and activist, has been prohibited from entering the university’s campus by Jamia Millia Islamia.

Jamia Millia Islamia articulated that the cancellation came in due to her unsatisfactory progress report. Also, failed to apply for an extension before the expiry of the stipulated period. She was unable to submit her dissertation within the mandated period.

Safoora Zargar offered to donate breast milk to a 1-day-old baby who lost her mother due to COVID.

Zargar is required to furnish a personal bond of 10,000 rupees. She cannot leave Delhi without permission.

“The incarceration of these activists is a violation of their right to fair and unbiased treatment at the hands of the justice system,” the letter reads.
