Who Is Sukesh Chandrasekhar? Actor Jacqueline Fernandez had to face questioning from the Enforcement Directorate in October this year, in connection with a rupees 200 crore scam. Now, a photo of the actor with the alleged mastermind of this con, Sukesh Chandrasekhar, has found its way to media, sparking a fresh round of speculations and controversy.

In the picture, the alleged conman can be seen kissing Fernandez on her cheek while taking a selfie, using an iPhone. News reports have claimed that the iPhone 12 Pro seen in the image is the same device that was used by Chandrasekhar to execute the con, for which he had procured an Israeli SIM Card. The image is allegedly from between the months of April and June this year when Chandrasekhar was out on interim bail. Fernandez and Chandrasekhar allegedly met four times in Chennai and a private jet was arranged for the actor's commute.
The accused conman's lawyer, Anant Malik had previously claimed that he was dating Jacqueline back then. However, Fernandez’s spokesperson releases a statement, categorically denying "alleged slanderous statements made about her relationship with the involved couple."
Who is Sukesh Chandrasekhar?
Sukesh Chandrasekhar stands accused of extorting rupees 200 crores from a businessman's wife by posing as a senior officer in the Law Ministry who promised to help with the release of her husband from jail. Shockingly, Chandrasekhar allegedly ran this scam while he was in jail, apparently with help of some jail officials, his wife Leena Maria Paul and other prisoners.
The 32-year-old has been working on the wrong side of the law from a very young age so that he could realise his dream of becoming a millionaire. According to India Today, Chandrasekhar hails from a lower middle-class family in Bengaluru, Karnataka. He completed his Class 12 from Madurai University and started working in the real-estate sector, not inclined to study further.
Even before he turned 18, Chandrasekhar began conning people by posing as a government officer and this led to his arrest as a minor in 2007, after he duped over 100 people by posing as a high-profile bureaucrat. Chandrasekhar and his wife have also been named in a Ponzi scam worth 19 crore in which they duped over 450 investors. He then allegedly conned Tamil Nadu politician TTV Dhinakaran of rupees 50 crores which again landed him behind the bars. It was while being in jail for this case that Chandrasekhar devised his new scam for which three government agencies are after him now.

Chandrasekhar is also notorious for conning Bollywood celebrities, posing as a high profile person to get close to celebrities, due to which Fernandez and actor Nora Fatehi came under the scanner of ED.
Chandrasekhar and his wife were finally nabbed in connection with the extortion case in October this year.
