Inspired by true events, the film is about a real-life hijacking of an Indian Airlines flight in 1984 when a RAW (Research and Analysis Wing) agent was sent on a covert mission to free 210 hostages and nab the highjackers. Directed by Ranjit M Tewari, the movie also features Huma Qureshi, Vaani Kapoor and Adil Hussain in significant roles.

Bell Bottom has received a positive response from the audiences and the critics alike. The makers took a massive risk with the release despite the shortage of screens. A spy thriller is set in the 80s and based on the plane hijacks that took India by storm back then. Kumar plays the role of a RAW agent who helps get the Indian hostages back to the country. A wide appreciation was received by actor Lara Dutta who essays the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, who was in power at that time. Her unrecognisable transformation into the late Gandhi went viral earlier this month. Vaani Kapoor plays Kumar's wife while Huma Qureshi also plays a pivotal role in Bell Bottom. It is the first theatrical release after the lockdown.

Meanwhile, speaking about the sequel of Bell Bottom, Kumar revealed that the way the film ends, there is definitely scope for a sequel. The actor also added that if the makers come up with a good script, things could indeed work out.
