Virgin River New Season Release Date: What We Know So Far

Virgin River new season release date was dropped earlier in mid-May and fans are already speculating the storyline for the fourth season. The show creator and other members of the cast already spilt a few beans over what can be expected out of Season 4. Here's what we can tell you:

Virgin River is a romance-drama Netflix Original series developed by Sue Tenney, based on author Robyn Carr's novels by the same name. In September 2021, the show was renewed for the fourth and fifth seasons. As Carr's Virgin River novel series consists of 25 books, it is also expected that the show is in for the long haul.

The series cast includes Alexandra Breckenridge, Martin Henderson, Colin Lawrence, Annette O'Toole, Tim Matheson and others. Most of the main cast will reprise their roles in the fourth season including Annette O'Toole, who was absent for the entire third season, except for a few video call appearances, owing to the pandemic restrictions.

The third season left the audience with many cliffhangers in the show. Will Mel and Jack get together? What happens to Mel's baby? Will it affect their relationship? Is Hope back? Who was the person that shot Jack?

Actor Martin Henderson assured the fans that they can expect answers to all these questions in the next season, along with some new questions arising, which will take the plot in a new direction. He mentioned in an interview, "Season four reveals and answers all the questions, but then presents some more." Subsequently, creator Sue Tenney also revealed that the fans can expect a plot twist in Virgin River Season 4. "There’s a big reveal when we open Season 4 that puts certain people in jeopardy," she told TV Insider.

Virgin River New Season: What can fans expect?

The official synopsis of the show reads, "Despite not knowing whether her baby belongs to her deceased husband, Mark, or Jack, has a sense of optimism. For years she yearned to be a mother, and her dream is one step closer to reality. While Jack is supportive and excited, the question of paternity continues to gnaw at him."

The description further hinted at the fate of other characters in the upcoming season, "Hope is still healing from her car accident, and the lingering psychological effects of her brain injury will have profound consequences for both her and Doc. Brie, intent on proving the innocence of the man she loves, unexpectedly finds herself in a closer relationship with Mike and one step closer to Calvin’s violent criminal web. Even as Preacher forges a new romantic connection, he can’t help but hold out hope for being reunited with Christopher and Paige."

We can potentially see Ricky leaving Virgin River as well as Lizzie behind, owing to the enlisting. Mel and Jack are supposed to work out the pregnancy thing, now that it is clear that they will stay together. On the other hand, Paige is expected to reunite with Christopher in the coming season while Charmaine will give birth to her twins.
