Thadam Remake cast announced: Actor Mrunal Thakur announced on September 6that she will be starring opposite Aditya Roy Kapur in an upcoming film. A remake of the 2019 Tamil film Thadam, the film will be directed by Vardhan Ketkar. The original movie was helmed by Magizh Thirumeni and revolved around solving the mystery of a man's murder. The police find two suspects in connection with the case. Surprisingly, they look alike but do not know each other. The case becomes complicated as new facts are unravelled. Thadame featured Arun Vijay and Vidhya in the lead.

The title of the remake has not been revealed yet. Reportedly, Thakur will be playing the role of a cop in the mystery thriller. Shooting for the movie is set to begin in the first week of October.

"When I heard the story, I instantly knew that I needed to be a part of this film. My character is intriguing, and playing a cop has been on my checklist. This will be distinct from all the characters I have played till now," Thakur revealed in an interview. Mrunal Thakur was recently seen in the Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra directorial Toofan. She played the role of a doctor and a supportive partner in the movie opposite Farhan Akhtar and garnered praise for her powerful performance.
In an interview with SheThePeople.TV, Thakur said that acting wasn't just her passion, but her life. When asked if she was drawn more towards realistic or extravagant roles, the actor said, “The audience’s taste is changing. They like watching things which are real.”
