From Manoj Bajpayee To Randeep Hooda, Industry Pays Respect To Veteran Actor Surekha Sikri

Surekha Sikri, a veteran actress, passed away on Friday in Mumbai after suffering from a cardiac arrest. Respects and tributes started pouring in for the national award-winning actor on Twitter.

Surekha Sikri tributes: Actor Surekha Sikri passed away of a cardiac arrest at the age of 75 on July 16. Sikri had been struggling with poor health for some years now. The septuagenarian actor will always be remembered for her  powerful performance in both films and television shows.

According to Sikri’s manager, she was dealing with the after effects of a second brain stroke she suffered in 2020. He stated that she was surrounded by her loved ones and family in her final moments. “The family asks for privacy at this time,” added Sikri's manager.

After the news of Surekha Sikri’s demise broke, several actors and politicians came forward to pay their respects to the three-time National Award-winning actor. 

Here's how social media is mourning the death of Surekha Sikri:

Indian industrialist and member of Parliament Naveen Jindal took to Twitter to appreciate the late actor’s work and bid her farewell. 

Television Actor Akanksha Puri wrote, “I have been a huge fan of her work,” adding that she will be remembered always. 

Indian politician and deputy chief minister of the government of Delhi, Manish Sisodia regarded the late actor as “an institution”. “Few actors are as versatile & accomplished as Surekha Sikri ji,” wrote Sisodia.

Actor Randeep Hooda also took to Twitter to mourn Sikri's demise.

The Family Man actor Manoj Bajpayee wrote in his tweet, “Very Sad news !!! One of the greatest talent Surekha Sikari ji passed away leaving behind so many great performances in theatre and cinema!!"

Film director, producer, and writer Anubhav Sinha shared how a few magics will not take place after Sikri’s demise.

National film award recipient actor Ashish Vidyarthi tweeted that he grew up watching Sikri's performances at the NSD repertory company. "he was unique in her work and in life... Fond memories of listening to her heavy near baritone voice over the few words she spoke at Mandi house ... People live to leave. Naman," he further added.

Television actor Karanvir Bohra tweeted, "Such sad news to hear about #surekhasikhri Ji Rest in peace Mam."
