As Kareena steps into the new chapter of motherhood today, we recall the life-changing journey she had embarked upon nine months ago along with her husband Saif. Here is a timeline of Kareena's second pregnancy.
August 2020: Announcement of pregnancy
The power couple officially announced that they were expecting their second child in August 2020. This was when Kareena was reportedly two months pregnant. The then soon-to-be-parents-again released a press statement, which read, "We are very pleased to announce that we are expecting an addition to our family !! Thank you to all our well-wishers for all their love and support."
In 2018, Kareena said on a chat show that she was looking forward to having a second baby. In fact, the actor reportedly gave a three-word reply when asked the question about her next child – she said, "After two years".
September 2020: Her 40th Birthday
On September 21, 2020, Kareena celebrated her 40th birthday with her family. In her birthday celebrations, she was seen wearing a green floral dress and standing next to a grand cake. In another photo, she could be seen with her father Randhir Kapoor, her mother Babita and her sister Karisma Kapoor.
She posted a photo of hers with a caption, which read, "As I enter my 40th year… I want to sit back, reflect, love, laugh, forgive, forget and most importantly pray and thank the strongest force up there for giving me the strength and thank my experiences and decisions for making me the woman I am… Some right, some wrong, some great, some not so… but still, hey BIG 40 make it BIG.”

October 2020: Shoot of Laal Singh Chaddha wrapped up
The then 4-months pregnant Bebo had been working on her upcoming project with Aamir Khan Laal Singh Chaddha. Kareena had left to shoot her sequences in Delhi during the last week of September. She wrapped up her part of the shoot in October 2020.
While shooting amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, extra precautions were taken on the sets of every film. Moreover, special precautions were taken during the shoot of Laal Singh Chaddha as Kareena is pregnant.
December 2020: Posting a Picture of Baby-Bump in Sportswear
As the actor not only continued to work during her pregnancy with various brands but also to celebrate festivities with her family and friends and also to hang out with them, she posted a photo flaunting her baby bump in sportswear.

December 2020: On working while being pregnant
As the actor was busy with multiple photoshoots and collaborations as well as shooting for her talk show What Women Want during pregnancy, she opened up about working while she was pregnant. She said in an interview with Bombay Times, "I have never been that kind of a person who would sit at home and say, ‘Now I want to put my feet up’. I am doing what I want to do. Working — whether it’s during my pregnancy or post-delivery — has been a point to just say that when has anyone ever said that pregnant women can’t work?”
Furthermore, she also talked about being a working mother and added, "In fact, the more active you are, the healthier the baby is and the happier the mother is. After delivery, too, once you feel fit enough, one should do what they feel like doing, and try to balance it out between giving time to the child as well as your work and yourself. February 2021: About her Second Pregnancy
In an interview with Times Now Digital, Kareena spoke in length about how her second pregnancy is different from her first. She said, "I guess I am more prepared and confident this time around. I was quite nervous and jittery since I was going to turn a mother for the first time. his time around," she added, "I am way calmer and thankfully, I am not going berserk yet."
February 2021: An Emotional Note Prior To Delivery
Kareena shared an emotional note on Instagram by an account run by the name of Freddy Birdy, prior to delivering her second child. The post was, "The most important thing to building a relationship, whether at home, at work or in life, is somebody ‘getting’ you. Now, this is a two-way street. We want everybody to ‘get’ us, to understand us, but very few do. Sometimes those closest to us might not get us, but a complete stranger might."
It further read, "We need people to ‘get’ our jokes, to ‘know’ why at times we need to keep quiet. Which is why we instantly love people we don’t know, like actors and actresses, because we ‘get’ them. We may not know Kareena Kapoor, but we ‘get’ her. May very, very few people ‘have’ you, but may many, many more ‘get’ you."

Moreover, Kareena recently gave us a sneak peek into the evening snack that she ate to quench her cravings. Sharing a picture of her favourite takeout in her Instagram stories, she revealed that she loves to eat roti, rice, a meaty dish along with a snack at dinner.
She also revealed that she is working on her first book titled Kareena Kapoor Khan’s Pregnancy Bible, which would be a comprehensive guide for expecting mothers. The book is expected to come out this year.
