A woman in the UK was taken aback after she discovered a cigarette butt and black ash in her child's 'happy meal' order from McDonald's.

The woman shared her experience on Facebook and wrote about her ordeal. She also shared her bitter experience of how her complaint was handled. The photograph she posted had netizens concerned and shocked while many others sympathised with her.

Another shocking incident of food hazards from the fast food chain McDonald's has come to light as a British mother from England has shared her distressing experience after ordering a takeaway meal from the outlet Barrow-in-Furness. 

On October 18, the 35-year-old woman, Gemma Kirk-Bonner ordered a takeaway order of a Happy Meal to serve to her child. As she got back home, she began feeding her son Caleb along with her three-year-old son Jackson soon to discover the toxic ingredients in her older son's meal. 

The extremely upset woman took to her Facebook account to share her experience in a sarcastic and angry tone as she shared the image and captioned, "Forget the toy, now it comes with cigarette end and ash for extra taste." 

She also shared in her caption how when she called the restaurant to complain about the incident she was rudely spoken to and then a woman from the store hung up on her.

The franchise of the Dalton Road restaurant, Mark Blundell spoke to the news outlet The Mail regarding the incident as he said that food safety is of the "utmost importance" to them and they put great emphasis on quality control of the food to provide the highest standard of food to their customers at their Barrow-in-Furness store. 

He also added that he would encourage and suggest the customer to get in touch with customer service to enable a proper probe into the incident that would ease the resolution.
