The district administration has removed a circle officer, a station house officer, and two constables from Milak Police Station after taking note of this incident. The accused outpost in charge has been placed under suspension. The outraged mob gathered outside the police station, causing a massive traffic jam.

UP Cop Forces Woman To Withdraw Complaint

The mother of the 12-year-old girl claimed that some policemen, including the outpost in-charge, Ashok Kumar, arrived at her house on September 19 and manhandled her and her daughter.

She elaborated that the policeman slapped her two-three times and her clothes got torn, adding that they were pressurised to withdraw the case.

Additional Superintendent of Police Sansar Singh said that earlier on September 19, the woman filed a case against two teenagers under sections 354 (criminal force with intent to outrage modesty) and 363 (kidnapping) under the Indian Penal Code after the accused forcibly took her daughter on their bike.

He added that both accused have been arrested by the police, and a detailed investigation is underway. He also informed that the SHO, circle officer, and two other constables have been removed, while the police outpost in charge, Ashok Kumar, has been suspended.

The additional district magistrate will investigate the matter, and if found guilty of manhandling the woman, FIRs will be registered against the accused officer, and action will be taken.

This incident in Uttar Pradesh raises the question of whether women have to protect themselves from the police, the very officials who are supposed to protect them. This is not the first time an incident of a police officer violating a woman has been registered in the state.

Police Brothers Rape And Threaten Woman In UP

Back in May 2023, two brothers, both police officers, raped a woman and forced her to abort the child after she conceived twice. The woman had befriended Imran Mirza on Facebook in 2021. The duo got into a relationship after Mirza promised to marry her. They got into a physical relationship on the pretext of marriage.

Later, Mirza moved into a rented apartment, where his brother Furqan raped her. Subsequently, the woman got pregnant twice and was forced to abort. When she dared to confront them, she was physically assaulted and threatened by them. Finally, after remaining quiet for two years, she filed a rape case against the brothers. Thereafter, they threatened to withdraw the case. The superintendent of police in Pilibhit assured that necessary action would be taken if found guilty.
