Sonam Kapoor Invited For PM Rishi Sunak's Reception At UK-India Week

Bollywood actor Sonam Kapoor is invited by UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak to attend his reception of the UK-India meet for strengthening the ties between the countries.

Bollywood actor Sonam Kapoor who lives in London invited to a UK-India week 2023. Bollywood actor Sonam Kapoor who lives in London with husband-businessman Anand Ahuja and son Vayu has been invited by Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Rishi Sunak to attend his reception for the UK-India meet held this week.

Sonam Kapoor is all set to be attending the UK-India week on Wednesday 28 June and will be talking about India and its cultural influence worldwide.

Sonam Kapoor Invited To UK-India Meet 

The reception will be held at the Prime Minister's official residence and office at 10 Downing Street. The reception would be the part of celebration of the India Global Forum (IGF) Flagship event in UK-India week, held from 26th-30th June in London.

UK-India Week 2023 is the 5th iteration of IGF's flagship event. The weeklong programme intends to strengthen and honour the longstanding bond between the two countries. This will be a platform to talk about crucial topics such as trade, business, politics, inclusion, and more for the harmony and development of the two countries. The intention of the event is to bring the countries closer.

Rishi Sunak in talks with News18 on the IGF Flagship event said that this event is "highly anticipated to be a fixture" in the bilateral calendar of the two great nations, and will act as a "catalyst" forging new trade ties, lasting collaborations, and better future for people. Sunak calls this meet to be "defining one of our time."

Sonam Kapoor was previously invited to King Charles III's coronation concert where the actor delivered an applauding performance.

Sonam Kapoor married in 2018 to long-time lover-businessman Anand Ahuja and later moved to London. Sonam Kapoor has been away from silver screens since 2019 taking a break from her career to spend time with family, the actor was also blessed with a baby boy Vayu Kapoor Ahuja in August 2022 as she keeps sharing glimpses of her life on her social media. However, after the break, the actor is also set to bounce back on big screens with Shome Makhija's movie Blind where she will be leading a blind person's role along with the cast Lilette Dubey, Vinay Pathak, Purab Kohli, and others The fil is slated to release on 7 July.
