Raj Kundra bail plea rejected: British-Indian businessman Raj Kundra has hit another hurdle in his attempt to get out of jail. On Wednesday, Mumbai’s Magistrate Court rejected the bail pleas of the businessman and his alleged associate Ryan Thorpe in the pornography case.

A fresh FIR was also lodged by Mumbai police this week based on a complaint by a female actor, who has alleged she was forced to shoot porn for HotShots, the controversial app that reportedly shared the adult content. This new case was registered against four producers from Kundra’s company and actor Gehana Vasisth, who is out on bail in connection to the porn case.

According to a report in TOI, the owner of Viaan Industries Limited, Kundra allegedly supplied the adult content and controlled the UK firm from his office, while the Chairman of London-based company Kenrin Ltd., Pradeep Bakshi, a British citizen who is married to Kundra’s sister, worked on the mobile app called ‘HotShots Digital Entertainment’. The businessman and his team have allegedly earned an average of five lakh rupees per movie that was released on certain mobile apps, including HotShots.

Meanwhile, Bollywood actor and wife of Kundra, Shilpa Shetty is yet to be summoned in her husband’s pornography case. Earlier, she gave her statement to Mumbai Police Crime Branch saying that she wasn’t aware of the exact content of the controversial app. She went on to claim that she has nothing to do with HotShots. She pledged that “erotica” is not “porn” and her husband wasn’t involved in producing porn content, news agency ANI reported.

In the controversial case, the Mumbai crime branch team raided the couple’s bungalow, which is located at Juhu, Kundra too visited his home with Mumbai police officials after spending days in jail. Shetty reportedly broke down and told her husband that the matter is portraying the family in a bad light, officials present at her residence told India Today. Reports now claim that the actor will most likely be summoned for further interrogation. Follow the case here.
