Many users asked how much money did Chaturvedi invest in crypto or was it all her savings. The politician later clarified that she has not invested a single rupee. She said, "But unlike you, I do speak for lakhs of investors and not for the Government of India." She added that asking for regulatory framework as asking for a ban.

Priyanka Chaturvedi Trolled For Remarks On Crypto Ban:

According to the government notification, 'The Cryptocurrency and Regulation of Official Digital Currency Bill, 2021' is going to be introduced in India in the upcoming winter session of Parliament. As per reports, the bill seeks to make facilitative framework for the creation of an official digital currency that the Reserve Bank of India wanted to do. This will mean that all private cryptocurrencies will be banned in India.

Chaturvedi tweeted on Tuesday, "If true, this is a recipe for disaster India doesn't need. Banning all private cryptocurrencies is basically killing the space -- robbing India of creating an ecosystem for new age FinTech. Anyway, expecting any better from GOI was wishful thinking."

She quoted an opinion by D Subbarao, former RBI governor and said that the ex-RBO governor is also in favour of regulating the currency, not banning it.

"...do not recognise it as a legal tender but asset class - like Japan, Singapore and Britain. But no, the GOI is allergic to sound advice," she wrote. She was attacked on social media for her statements to which she replied that she has not invested any money so it is not a personal issue.
