Oprah Winfrey has become the first Black female entrepreneur on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. With a record $4 billion fortune, she ranks as one of the world’s 500 richest people at 494. The Queen of all media is ranked just behind Mark Cuban and Ross Perot.
One of the many reasons to increase Winfrey’s fortune this year was the performance of Weight Watchers International Inc. The firm led Winfrey’s fortune to hit a whopping $427 million so far this year as the company’s share price has more than doubled. The famous producer and philanthropist started the weight-loss firm which has had a celebratory comeback since 2015.

The Academy Award nominee has earlier this year won the Golden Globes Cecil B. DeMille award for lifetime achievement. She is the first Black woman to win the award
The Oprah Winfrey Show, running for 25 years now, has gone on to become the highest-rated television program of its kind in history.
Partnership deal with Apple Inc
The founder of her own cable network, Winfrey just signed a deal in partnership with Apple Inc. to produce original programs and content. The company is looking forward to competing with brands like Netflix, Amazon and Hulu.
Winfrey will continue to head the channel, OWN as the CEO. Winfrey is ranked one of the richest the richest African-American, the greatest Black philanthropist in American history, and is currently North America’s first and only multi-billionaire Black person.
