Writer Kanika Dhillon announced in an Instagram on Monday, that she is now engaged to fellow writer Himanshu Sharma. The Manmarziyaan writer Dhillon exchanged rings with Sharma in a private ceremony and shared images from the intimate ceremony with her post. The couple is expected to tie the knot soon.

In the pictures from her engagement ceremony that reportedly took place in November, Dhillon can be seen wearing a yellow suit. Meanwhile, the Raanjhanaa writer Sharma wore a light blue kurta-pyjama along with a white vest. The couple has been reportedly dating each other for a while.

She captioned these images, “Famjam and more .. with Himanshu Sharma." The couple posed with their parents and Dhillon’s sister for their engagement pictures.
Earlier on December 4, Dhillon had shared similar photos from a ceremony attended only by close friends and families due to the COVID-19 pandemic guidelines. On Monday, she made her engagement official with the screenwriter.
Sharing the excitement, the couple said in a statement to Pinkvilla, “After being in a relationship for a while now.. we are happy to announce we are engaged and getting married soon. Looking forward to a happy and great life ahead.”

Dhillon was married to filmmaker Prakash Kovelamudi and got divorced last year. Sharma, has reportedly dated actor Swara Bhasker. He is known for writing popular films such as Zero, Tanu Weds Manu and Tanu Weds Manu Returns, which won him the National Award in 2016. He is next project is Akshay Kumar’s Atrangi Re which also stars Dhanush and Sara Ali Khan. Meanwhile, Dhillon is known for writing Anurag Kashyap’s Manmarziyaan and Netflix movie Guilty. Her other notable works include Kedarnath and Judgementall Hai Kya. Her upcoming projects include Taapsee Pannu-starrer Haseen Dillruba.
