This post and his announcement of the Gabby Petito Foundation being set up, come after over a week of social media silence. He had shared the website for the Gabby Petito Foundation while saying “she is already saving lives”. Set up Gabby Petito's memory, the foundation aims to give voice to people leaving abusive relationships and domestic violence, along with those of missing people being found.
Many users commented in support of Gabby:
“I hope Gabby is looking down on us and seeing this beautiful movement happening, she has in fact touched the WORLD.”

“We absolutely have to do better. I've paid attention for a long time to the way the cops/courts fail women (and children) in domestic violence situations. It's a travesty. The epidemic of violence against women must be addressed.”
Gabby Petito was last seen in late August when she left for a trip with her fiancée Brian Laundrie. He returned from the trip alone on September 1. Petito was then reported missing on September 11. Laundrie went missing on September 14 and is the sole person of interest in the case, with a warrant out for his arrest. Gabby Petito was recently found dead in Wyoming, and her death was ruled as a homicide.
