Emma Coronel El Chapo Wife: Emma Coronel, the wife of Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman, was arrested recently facing allegations of being involved in her husband's crime.
It was later reported that Coronel is planning to leak information on the Sinaloa cartel members, referring to which her lawyer Jeffrey Litchman raised objections. He called out the federal officers quoted in the news reports and said that the leak was "designed to kill her family".
While talking to WABC's The Other Side of Midnight program, he said that he will not comment on what Coronel is going to do or not going to do. He called the news reports "planted" stories and "most despicable thing, probably the worst prosecutorial government misconduct" he has ever seen in his 30 years of experience.
He added, "And I’ve been involved with the fabrication of evidence, destroying evidence, lying to judges, lying to juries by the feds, but to actually put this out there is an attempt to murder her and her family." He said that Coronel has two 9-year-old daughters who are now exposed.
In a report published by The Post, a federal law enforcement officer said that Coronel is "definitely cooperating" and that she is likely to get witness protection. "Emma wants to get far away from the violence, and has always wanted to live in the US," the source was quoted saying. Coronel's lawyer further said that if there was cooperation that was going from her side, it has been destroyed and that if she was not cooperating then the reports were a way to force her to cooperate by targeting her family.
