The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declared its class 12th results today. Meghna Srivastava from Noida has emerged as the national topper with 499 marks out of 500 in the board examinations. Anushka Chandra of Ghaziabad is the second topper with 498 marks. Interestingly, there are seven students who share the third position out of which five are girls.
Meghna Srivastava is from Humanities stream. A student of Step by Step School, she has scored full marks in History, Geography, Psychology, Economics and 99 in Core English. She has scored an aggregate 99.8% marks. The girl aspires to do major in Psychology. She is yet to decide what she wants to do ultimately.
She told IndiaTodayEducation, "I am overwhelmed to see the results. I never expected that I will score 499 marks. Actually, nobody expects to score these many marks."
"First and the foremost thing is that all the students should take their test like any other exam. I would advise all the students not to do last-minute study," Meghna Srivastava said.
Girls performed better than boys with an overall passing percentage of 88.31 as compared to 78.09 for boys.
On sharing her success mantra, she said, "Hard work and consistency is the key to success. Students should be organised from day one of the board preparation."
She explained how she never did late night study and gave equal time to each subject. "I practiced a lot of sample papers and analyzed them so that I get to know my weak points," she said talking about her preparation strategy.
Anushka, a student of Ghaziabad's SAJ School, scored 498 marks and secured the second position. She too is from Humanities Stream. She got 98 in English and 100 in rest of her subjects.
More power to them!
