Bihar: Teen Boy Accused Of Abducting Girl Dies By Alleged Suicide In Correction Home

Teen boy Dies In Correction Home: A 16-year-old boy, who was accused of abducting a girl allegedly died by suicide in a correction home on Friday, in Bihar's Bhojpur district. According to officials, he died under mysterious circumstances and the boy's family alleges that he was murdered.

After this incident, around ten inmates managed to escape from the facility.

Roshan Kushwaha, the Bhojpur district magistrate, ordered a probe into the matter. According to the assistant director, Child Protection Unit Bhojpur, the boy was a resident of Budhanpurva village under the Buxar district.

He was brought to the correction home in Dhanpura on October 6, as per a Hindustan Times report.

As per the daily routine, the pre-dinner counting of the inmates began at 7:30 PM and after that, everyone headed for dinner. After dinner,  the boy went to the bathroom and allegedly hanged himself with a towel, after locking the door from inside.

The boy was discovered when other inmates found the door locked. The staff then broke the door open. He was rushed to the Sadar Hospital, where he was declared brought dead. Officials claimed that the boy had tried to attempt suicide earlier as well by consuming phenyl. He had been rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment.

Taking advantage of the chaos of the situation this time around, ten inmates even escaped from the facility around 9:30 PM, reports say. The neighbouring areas have been cordoned off and the parents of the inmates have also been informed.

The deceased's older brother said that the boy had eloped with a girl and taken her to Delhi. Family members, on being informed caught them and handed him over to the police. The brother alleged murder as he said there were several injury marks found on the body. The body has been sent for post-mortem.
