Who Is Soujanya? What We Know About The Kannada Actor Who Died By Suicide

Who is Soujanya? Kannada television actress Soujanya ended her life by hanging herself in her Bangaluru apartment today.

As per reports a suicide note was found from the scene in which has mentioned that she was solely responsible for this extreme step. She has reportedly apologised to her family in the note and also spoken about facing mental health issues. She lived on the outskirts of Bengaluru.

• The actor worked in couple of serials in Kannada.
• She is associated with the comedy romance Nanobben Olleyvnu directed by Vijay Mahesh.
• She also worked in horror-thriller Real Real -2 directed by Kavi Rajesh, starring opposite Prajwal and Kavya Gowda in prominent roles.
• As per preliminary report it looks like a case of death by suicide. She left a 4-page long suicide note. The case is being investigated by Kumbalgodu police.
• She hailed from Kodagu district of Karnataka which is near Mysore city.

Earlier the Kannada film industry lost actress Jayashree Ramaiah, who also died by suicide. In 2019 India reported an average 381 deaths by suicide daily. A total of 1,39,123 death by suicide were reported in the year according to the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) data.
