“Antioxidants are the protective nutrients that help the body stay alert and away from diseases. It works as an important fence for the system,” says nutritionist Sushma Jaiswal in a candid chat with SheThePeople.TV. She stressed upon the fact that today’s working women need to have stimulated antioxidants that can prevent numerous unpredictable diseases and keep bacteria away. And, what is the best way to do that?

“We get antioxidants mainly through fruits and vegetables. According to a study, there are about two thousand plus antioxidants available in fruits and veggies alone. To get all the vitamins and to increase the dose of antioxidants in our body, we need to include varieties of fruits and veggies in our regular diet. Even almost 2 decades ago when everything was organic and natural, a small amount of such food items was enough to fill up the gap, but today the scenario has changed with more hybrid elements on the table. Recently, WHO also claimed that what was enough with just 2 fruits a day a decade ago, today it has to be 10 different variations of fruits and veggies depending on the person’s antioxidants and immunity growth," explains Jaiswal.
