Bengaluru Woman Techie Harassed By Two Men On Bike

A woman techie in Bengaluru faced a distressing incident of harassment on her way back home from work. On July 11, in Brindavan Nagar, near Peenya, she was accosted by two bike-borne men who demanded her contact number. 

The woman, a software engineer at a private firm, bravely ignored their advances and kept walking. After the woman techie ignored the demands of two bike-borne men in Bengaluru, they proceeded to follow her to her residence in Brindavan Nagar.

In a disturbing turn of events, they threw stones at a car parked opposite her house, shattering its glass. CCTV cameras in the area captured the incident, and despite the miscreants covering their faces with shirts, the police managed to identify one of them.

The woman promptly lodged a complaint at Peenya police station on July 12, leading to the registration of an FIR under IPC Section 154 (punishment for harassing a woman). Authorities are actively tracing the culprits, with arrests expected soon.

In a similar shocking incident captured on both the car's dashboard camera and a nearby CCTV, three to four bike-borne assailants unleashed a road rage attack on a car owner in broad daylight on Guntur Road in Bengaluru's Gunjur, Varthur on July 14. After the car owner honked to overtake them, the assailants became enraged and began abusing and physically attacking him. They went on a rampage, vandalising his car, with one of the bikers even ramming his bike into the vehicle.

Despite the car owner's attempts to apologise and leave the scene, the bikers pursued him and blocked his path near a residential apartment. There, they continued their assault, smashing the car's windscreen while attacking him further. The whole incident has caused outrage on social media, and the Varthur police have assured that the miscreants involved in the incident will be apprehended soon.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police in the Whitefield Division recently announced the arrest of the three accused individuals. In a subsequent tweet, the Bengaluru Police assured the public that such unruly behaviour would not be tolerated under their watch and would be met with severe consequences.
