Bengaluru Woman Groped In Metro; Friend Shares Ordeal On Reddit

A college-going woman accompanied by a friend was groped by an unidentified man in the metro in Bengaluru. Her friend shared the story on Reddit seeking guidance for action. As per the Reddit thread, the man swiftly escaped even after the woman and her friend screamed asking for help while their fellow passengers did not seem to care enough. Upset from the incident, the woman's friend shared this ordeal asking Redditors to guide her to take further action. As per the reports, the incident has yet not been addressed by the police and no actions have been reported. 

In what seems like yet another case of assault on public transport, a college-going woman in Bengaluru was allegedly assaulted by a man as she was travelling in the metro around 8:50 am.

As per the Reddit post by @proteincarbs, her friend who usually travels by bus opted for the metro on Monday. Around 8:50 am at Majestic, the metro was overcrowded more than usual and there was a lot of to and fro by the commuters. 

The Redditor further shared, "After a while, my friend began to feel very uncomfortable. She soon realized that a man in a red shirt, standing right behind her, was touching and grabbing her from the back. She could literally feel his nails."

The Redditor also wrote how her friend initially failed to realise what was happening but as soon as she turned around feeling something was wrong, the "monster" (alleged accused) wearing a red shirt sprinted away. The Redditor shared how her friend screamed and cried for help but their fellow commuters did not seem to care. 

Extremely upset by the incident, the Redditor informed how her friend was traumatised by the incident and asked for the rightful actions against the man seeking guidance. The post just in a day has 561 upvotes with many Redditors coming forward to help. 

A user claiming to be working in the organisation guided to seek CCTV footage access as the metro is fully under surveillance, and asked the Redditor to also Tweet the incident tagging @cpronammametro for fast action and guided everyone to inform the station manager if anyone faces such incidents in future. 

As many users pointed to and tagged St broseph believing he might actually help they also suggested the Redditor for giving emotional assistance to her friend, while another user suggested she must seek social worker help so that the incident would reach in the news. 

However, reports for any legal actions and police intervening in the incident have yet not been confirmed.
