Excitement on the internet has been off the charts since news of Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli becoming parents to a baby girl on Monday came to light. Kohli made the announcement on social media through a message informing that both mother and daughter were healthy, and requesting privacy at the time. No photos were shared on the occasion. However, soon after, a picture of Sharma allegedly cradling a child began doing the rounds, going viral on Twitter and WhatsApp. A simple fact check shows that neither the woman in the picture is Sharma and nor is she holding the 'Virushka' baby.

The photo is reportedly a stock image of a new mother holding a baby that has been used many times over in articles and videos on the internet for many years. This article on parenting from 2009 has made use of the same image that is now doing the rounds as Sharma and her baby girl. Several clickbaits on YouTube too have been using this stock image, terming it the first photo of the celebrity kid.
Some WhatsApp forwards, quoting a publication, even mentioned that the new parents had decided to call their daughter 'Anvi' - a simple portmanteau of Anushka and Virat. However, this is yet to be confirmed by the couple, since they haven't yet made their daughter's name public.
Sharma And Kohli's Family Welcomes The Baby
Family of the new parents took to social media to welcome their little "angel" into the world. Kohli's sister Bhawna shared a picture on Instagram that read, "So happy to be a bua of a beautiful little angel. Congratulations, proud parents Virat and Anushka."
Kohli's brother Vikas, meanwhile, shared a picture of baby feet on Instagram with the caption, "Happiness overboard .... angel in the house." See his post below:

The new parents have been showered with blessings and good wishes from the film fraternity, cricket community, and audience. Notable personalities who congratulated the couple included Priyanka Chopra, Sachin Tendulkar, Harbhajan Singh, and Saina Nehwal.
